Welcome to The Children's Bookshop and The Dorothy Butler Children's Bookshop. We have one of the largest selections of quality children's books in New Zealand, and a range of educational toys, puzzles, games, music and audio books. Our knowledgeable staff can help select books specifically for your child, or your school or library. We offer a "special order" service and will search for that special book. We pack and post worldwide.
This website is an extension to our "bricks and mortar" stores. Not all of our stock is featured at present, but more titles are being added everyday. If there is something that you would particularly like to purchase online and it is not listed, drop us an email and we will add it to the site.
We are pleased to announce that we are now open again in Christchurch. The shop in Victoria St. was demolished after the February 22 earthquake, but we are now open at 227 Blenheim Rd. We lost all of our stock and most of our shelving when Victoria St. was demolished, so please plan in advance if you are wanting a particular title for a birthday. We are getting new stock daily, but there is still a chance that we will have to order something specific for you. Thank you to all the loyal customers who bought online while we were shut. You can continue doing this if it is more convenient for you, but do come and look at the new shop - it is bright and airy and when it is fully stocked it will be even better than it's predecessor.
